Important to Know:

  • For parents/legal guardians of children who turn 3 or 4 by September 1, preference given to 4-year-olds.
  • Programs run during school hours for the school year.
  • Half- and full-day programs are offered. (CPS cannot guarantee applicants a full-day program)
  • No school or work requirement.
  • Sliding scale fees. Free for most families.
  • CPS recommends that children be toilet-trained.
  • For children with an IEP, they can be enrolled in PreK on their third birthday.

  • For parents/legal guardians of infants and children, talk directly with center staff to learn if toilet training is recommended.
  • Programs run year-round during summer and school vacations and centers are open from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Full day programs may have work, school, or other requirements.
  • If you aren’t sure you qualify, talk directly with staff . You might be surprised.
