About Us

The Altgeld-Riverdale Early Learning Coalition

The coalition is dedicated to building a comprehensive community infrastructure that will ensure all children in the Altgeld-Riverdale community are on track to succeed by third grade.  Click here for a fact sheet.

Formed in 2012, the Coalition works to strengthen early learning opportunities for children from pre-birth to age 8 and foster their physical, academic, and social/emotional development. It is comprised of more than two dozen member organizations, including local child-care centers, elementary schools, social service providers, library, park district, and faith-based communities, as well as community residents.

The coalition holds monthly meetings, open to all interested local residents and service providers.  Meeting notices are posted on this website and emailed to all members.  Click here to subscribe to our email list.

The Community Beat – brought to you courtesy of the Altgeld-Riverdale Early Learning Coalition – is your all-in-one online resource for events, services, and organizations in Altgeld Gardens, Concordia Place, Golden Gate, and Riverside Village.

It’s a website run by the community, for the community, and all are welcome to participate. If you’d like to get involved, please use our Contact Us form.
